Mr Chris Estarija
Water Sports CCA Coordinator
On the morning of 1 March, everyone had the energy to be at the pool on a bright sunny morning. Students were ready in their swimsuits, stretching and excited to warm-up for the annual Swimming Carnival. The Swimming Carnival consisted of Individual 50 m freestyle and breast stroke, 6 x 25 m freestyle, Rubber-Tube Boat Relay and 7-aside water polo. With the high energy atmosphere, students signed up for their respective houses for the different events.
After all the events werecomplete, Budi Utomo came out on top garnering the most number of points with 174, followed by Kartini with 166 points, then Thoburn with 135 point and Oldham with 129 points. As the event ended with the loud cheers of the house teams, the Swimming Carnival fostered a new spirit of fair competition and camaraderie.
With this, I would like to thank Dr Lee for being supportive with this annual sporting celebration, to the tireless teachers and staff who helped us in the preparation and carrying out the different functions of the meet, to our dear parents who found time off their busy schedule to celebrate Founder’s Day with us and most of all to God, that He gave us His guiding hands and watched over us throughout the day. May His goodness be an inspiration to all of us. Until next year’s Swimming Carnival, where every team will show that ‘The Best Is Yet To Be’.
