In the final week of school of quarter 2, on 3 December 2018, the Robotics CCA members excitedly participated in their first internal robotics competition. The competition was an ideal way to test their knowledge, teamwork, problem solving ability, and creativity, and to also build their STEM competence and confidence in a fun and competitive way.
After a quick briefing, the students simultaneously started their constructions. The Grade 1 to 2 students made robots using basic The results for first place for each category were as follows:

Artec kits which they then raced on a track. The grade 2-3 students, in teams, built robots to race on a track line using Artec Studuino kits. The grade 5-6 students made sumo robots (SUMOBOT) and then had their robots duel against each other in a sumo style fighting arena It was great to see a good turnout of parents who came to support the participants, and in turn it meant that they could see first-hand what their children had achieved so far in the Robotics CCA. Great fun was had by all and a lot was learnt. We can’t wait for our next competition!
