Mr Chris Estarija
Water Sports CCA Coordinator
‘TAKE YOUR MARK’, was the signal given in the early morning of 24 February during the JAAC Swimming Meet 2018 at British School Jakarta. Our ACS swimmers from primary and secondary were early in their swimsuits, stretching and warming up for the annual swimming meet. Our participants were against the big swimming schools in Jakarta such as Jakarta Intercultural School, British International School, Sekolah Global Jaya, UPH-LV, SPH-LV, SPH-SC, Australian International School and ACG Orcas. Yet, this did not stop our swimmers from performing at their top form as they participated in the U12, U14 & U17 events mainly, freestyle, breast stroke, back stroke, butterfly, individual medley and relay races. At one point most of them were nervous as swimmers from other schools came, yet they kept their composure and focused on the task at hand without any sign of nervousness. With all events done, we managed to bag 12 awards in all of the events and garnering a total score of 632 points amongst 9 participating teams. Duly they have done more than taking their mark, and they ‘MADE THEIR MARK’.
We would like to thank Dr Lee, and Mr Melvin for allowing us to join this prestigious event & to our dear parents who supported us from practise sessions to the day of the tournament. Congratulations ACS Swimming Team and let’s continue to swim harder and faster as each second counts for the Glory of God, where in ‘The BEST Is Yet To Be’.
