After a two-year hiatus, ACS Jakarta again held its annual inter-school swimming meet. The event took place on Saturday, 20th October, when 227 swimmers from 18 schools competed in various heats. 41 ACS students: 24 from the primary and 17 from the secondary - all members of the school’s swimming CCA - participated in the one-day event. The secondary school team was represented by competitive swimmers who had been diligently training every morning.
Blessed with good and sunny weather, the swimming meet began at 08.00 on the dot, with swimmers from the 7 - 9 age group competing in the 25m Flutter Kick with board. It ended around 13.00 in the afternoon with the announcement of the winners and prize awards. ACS Jakarta collected the most points and became the overall winner of the event with 857 points, followed by Global Jaya School with 751 and Cikal with 396. Congratulations to Elizabeth from Grade 1 who brought home three gold medals, Aniqa Muna Syarief from Grade 3 with 2 gold and 2 silver medals, and Jaromir Rayyan from Grade 1 with 2 silver medals. Congratulations also to the secondary swimming team who did well in most of their events and managed to achieve at least a podium finish for their respective events. Well done!!!
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all swimmers, swimming CCA coaches and TICs, staff, secondary MRC students, officials and all parties who helped make this annual event successful.
